at the start of january we lost our very beautiful ella to diffuse midline glioma (a type of very aggressive brain cancer) she was only 20 and still had a future a head of her. ella was diagnosed in summer of 2023, she was given a year to live, she fought with everything she had and achieved so much in the 18 months from diagnosis.

yes, ella was strong and brave but she was also beautiful and kind, she died of cancer but she is so much more than that. ella had the biggest heart, her smile was cheeky and she never failed to make us all giggle. she was a great sister to evan, a beautiful daughter and a fabulous friend - we all miss her very much

ella spent her final days in the butterfly hospice trust, the care and support the staff there gave her family was exceptional. all the nurses, health cares, chefs, cleaners and receptionists were nothing but amazing, all real life angels. the environment and atmosphere in there was so peaceful, even at the lowest times staff were always there with open arms, nothing felt too much. i know that ella’s family are extremely grateful for the care she received in her final days, all money raised will go to the hospice so they can carry on giving the best care for patients and their families in their time of need.

both of us will be running derby 10k in april and the manchester half marathon in october, battle cancer in may, derby ramathon and various different races and events in between all of that (probably in some kind of butterfly/glitter bombed fancy dress/ pink out fit so look out for that lol)
