The Butterfly Effect: Migration is Beautiful

Donation protected
The Butterfly Effect: Migration is Beautiful project  is an art and activism project led by youth in the Bay Area. We are leading a movement to create a visual representation that will raise awareness of the 15,000 immigrant children who have been and are currently in US detention and to inspire our community to take action to end child detention permanently.

Thanks to our amazing donors, we have raised enough funds to support our youth led rally to in solidarity with migrant children in detention on Saturday, November 16th, from3-4pm at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater in Oakland! Thank you to everyone who has donated!

We are now raising funds to support sending our team to Washington DC. We have been invited to display 15,000 butterflies at the Russell Senate Building Rotunda in Washington DC on 11/20/19, Universal Day of the Child. We are planning to bring young people to DC to deliver butterflies to members of Congress as symbols of the friendship they hold for the migrant children in detention, and to share their deep hope that our lawmakers will also stand up for the kids in detention centers. If you can help sponsor a youth activist/family member to come to DC, please considering donating.

Thank you.
