The Burrs
Donation protected
This is a fundraiser for the three Burr children (Gage 13, Bo 11, and Cote 10), and their caregivers. Bo and Cote have multiple diagnoses that have severely affected them physically and cognitively. At this time Cote has yet to walk more than a couple of steps, and Bo is able to walk only for short distances. Neither can speak, and both are entirely reliant on their caregivers for all needs.
The funds that we are able to raise, will first be put towards a full size van, and the modifications it will require. As Bo and Cote are growing, they are now too heavy to utilize restroom changing stations. A full size van will allow us privacy and space for their personal cares. This will give us freedom to explore and socialize like we were able to do when they were smaller. A large van would also have enough room to accommodate their adaptive equipment.
Any additional funds raised, will be put towards Lyme testing that is not covered by insurance. The Lyme testing cost per child is very great, and is required before they can move forward with treatment. What treatment means to them is the possibility of gaining life long skills such as more cognitive and physical function. Their mother was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease, and her doctor has suggested that due to the children diagnoses they should be tested as well.
With everything happening with our day to day life, we would like to move forward with the purchase of the van as soon as possible. Roseau County Ford currently has a van available that would easily meet our needs.
We would be so grateful for any help provided as it will allow us to better the children quality of life.
