The Boot Room Community Project
Donation protected
I 'm a football mum and my son plays football for a local team as many parents know this can be an expensive hobby.
One game day, one of his coaches over heard a parent commenting her children may not be able to play the following season as they could not afford to buy boots for them both.
On hearing this we decided to start a community project called The Boot Room where unwanted Football and Rugby boots, Astros, shins, kits and equipment are donated to us and we distribute them to children, young adults and local communities who are unable to afford equipment to enable them to play sports.
The Boot Room now has multiple drop off locations throughout Wales and a location in Cheltenham were items can be left or collected.
I've volunteered with the project for the last year, helping to collect donated items , clean them and distribute them to people in need.
Due to the effects of Covid and the increase of unemployment , The Boot Room has been receiving requests for help from people all over the UK and wider countries asking if items can be posted out to them.
As The Boot Room is a non profit project, we do not carry the funds to enable us to do this.
So we are looking for help, to raise funds to be able to mail boots, kit and equipment to people in need.
We want to reach as many children, young adults and communities as we can to give everyone a fair chance at taking part in sports, especially during these tough times.
The Boot Room believes every child should be given a chance to play sports.
Please help this brilliant project to enable us to continue making a difference and supporting as many young people as possible during these extremely difficult times.
Thank you for your support!
