The Bobby Murdoch memorial statue
We want to recognise and acknowledge, the man, the legend, Bobby Murdoch and the player affectionately known as ‘Chopper’.
By raising funds we can commission a life-size bronze statue as a permanent reminder of his remarkable achievements. (location options are being agreed)
Bobby’s unwavering commitment to the beautiful game, his incredible career as well as acknowledging the pivotal part he played in history of the sport as a Lisbon Lion in ‘67 European Cup final in Portugal. is overdue.
Bobby was more than just a football player, he was a symbol of passion, dedication, and excellence and as such, his time on the pitch, his love for the game and his connection to fans has left an indelible mark on history and his impact goes far beyond his playing days and his inspiration stretches beyond the pitch.
It is time to honour his incredible legacy with a fitting tribute - A powerful permanent reminder that will stand as a testament to his past achievements and a vision to future generations by remembering the sprit he brought to the game, let’s make this tribute a reality.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help bring us one step closer to ensuring Bobby immortalised in a way that reflects his impact on history with a bronze sculpture by the artist John Mckenna. John has already produced other great works such as other lions Billy McNeill, ‘Jinky’ Johnstone, Bobby Lennox as well as many other sporting sculptures (https://www.johnmckenna.co.uk)
Please join us in honouring Bobby's legacy, please share this, spread the word, donate what you can, its a serious amount to raise but we are resolute..... So,, Imagine! …….if every fan donated a few pounds during a game at paradise we would practically reach our goal,
‘Its a grand old team to play for’ and If our expectations are exceeded all surplus funds will be pledged to the celtic foundation
