Dear Friends & Neighbors,
After 2 years of "Bubble Wraps," the Big Wrap Is Back! We'll be wrapping care packages for people experiencing homelessness in the DC metro area Dec. 16-17 in the Brentwood Town Hall. But in order for us to have items to wrap, we need cash donations, the sooner the better!
This year, our goal is to raise $4,200 to make 700 care packages. (UPDATE: We will be producing at least 834 care packages this year!) We buy in super-bulk to make your donation go as far as it can. The $12 you might spend on 2 pair of socks will fund 2 complete care packages consisting of cold-weather items, toiletries, and a holiday card. These gifts will be distributed to DC-area shelters on Christmas Day.
How can you help?
- Make a donation! Just $6 covers an entire care package--the gift of warm feet and self-care for someone who may not receive any other gifts this season. 100% of donations go directly into the packages! If you require a receipt for tax purposes, please reach out to us directly. And don't forget: when you make your donation, you can set GoFundMe's tip to zero!
- Sign holiday cards! Every package needs a personalized card! If you don't want to purchase cards, consider repurposing the ones you received last year by cutting off the cover to make a postcard.
- Wrap with us! We need volunteers Friday evening December 16th and all day Saturday the 17th at the Brentwood Town Hall. BUT! If we don't get donations, there won't be much to wrap. We need cash donations too!
