The Big 2025 Challenge

If you know me then you‘ll know how hard/emotional/challenging this is for me.

After 20+ years of working as a freelancer in the Arts, I find myself broken and drowning. Since the beginning of this year I’ve been going through (thankfully amicable yet still heartbreaking) divorce proceedings with my ex-partner.

In April my Dad, Hugh, passed away after a very short and unexpected illness, and I’m grateful that the Saunders family came together to share our strength at that time.

On top of this, after a number of years of very challenging behaviours and trauma from our youngest son, I need to share that he is not currently living with us in an effort to find a better, healthier relationship between us. This has ruined me emotionally.

I find myself in a horribly broken emotional position where I am without work and simply haven’t had any capacity to create scripts, to get into Drag for many events or to seek out acting work. I promise I’m trying but it’s so hard.

Even as a professional Writer I find myself lost for words as I write here the words ‘please help me’.

If you are able to make a contribution that will allow me to make sure the mortgage is paid whilst I try to find my strength again - and I damn well will - then I PROMISE I will help you also in any way when asked. You know this. You know that I will.

You may see me drinking a coffee or pint out as a means to sustain my social joy, and I beg for your understanding. I want to make sure that during this period of massive transition I keep myself afloat emotionally and financially, and make sure that I can provide a safe and secure home for my kids to rehabilitate our relationship.
