Hi it’s Eloise and I am running the Lisbon marathon on Saturday 25th October to raise money for the ´Best start by untold’ Charity.

This amazing charity was founded by my friend and colleague with a goal to give every child the best start in life in Ghana. This charity believes every child deserves the chance to learn, thrive, and succeed without preventable health challenges standing in their way.

The charity will be heading to the Volta Region of Ghana, specifically Amesianyakope, a small rural village on the outskirts of Ho.

Many children in underserved communities like Amesianyakope face barriers to learning that can be prevented with simple interventions which the charity will be delivering through the following programme:

1. Providing free vision screenings and reading glasses for children who need them

2. Offering hearing screenings and referrals for treatment where necessary

3. Delivering health education sessions to empower parents, teachers, and children

4. Partnering with local schools and health workers to build sustainable support systems.
