While most of you know me and my cancer story, this page is to hopefully raise a little funds to help my most amazing momma and my best friend. When I was diagnosed with my terminal cancer, so many people helped my family in more ways than I could ever say enough thank you’s for. Even now so many people are still reaching out asking for a way to help. I am not one to ever directly ask for help but my heart knows I need it to pull off something like this.
Some of you have gotten to meet my Mom, but for those who haven’t, I would like to share a little about her because she is one who puts everyone else before herself.
She is the strongest, most giving, most caretaking person I’ve ever seen. It is true honor for me to have been raised by her. We started out as just me and her as my bio dad left us when I was a newborn. My mom was a single mom and worked her butt off for 9 years to give me an amazing life. She then met my dad and they have been together now over 20 years and have always always been by my side for everything. When my son was born she quit her job of 20 years to help me raise my kids without question. She’s always taken care of my grandparents until their lives ended and still takes care of my living ones. Then when my dad became very ill 2 years ago and unable to work, she still kept her family up and running.
When I finally thought it was my turn to take care of her and give back, I received my terminal diagnosis and have become mostly unable to work. From that day this amazing woman has been at every lab draw, scan, Dr.’s appt, chemo treatment, takes my kids while I’m on chemo so I can rest. She’s my shoulder to cry on, to vent to, to hold me up when I feel like giving up and so many more things.
She is currently trying to figure out a way to finish her basement on very limited funds to make sure I have a place to come when I need more 1:1 care to avoid a hospital or hospice placement.
So my family and friends who I am the most grateful of everything you have given to me, I’m now hoping for just a little help to give back to her.
My tribe I thank you for everything I’ve been blessed with over this past year, more than you will ever know!
