From 1994 to 1996, I watched one of the greatest demonstrations of love and selfless devotion of my life - my mother caring for my father when he was diagnosed with Leukemia (note: different spellings depending on where you live). I never thought I would see anything like that again in my lifetime but unfortunately, I have.

On September 15, our beloved Ray Fuller passed away after one of the most courageous battles with cancer seen. If you knew Ray, you loved him. If you didn't know Ray, you would have loved him (especially if you were female and liked bad jokes).

At his side every step of the way was Linda. They are best friends, they were business partners and together, they were integral to a circle of friends and community that otherwise wouldn't have existed.

This fundraiser is to help support Linda who put all business on hold for the last six months (so she says - we think longer) so she could be a full time carer for Ray. I thought I had seen love and dedication before but this was something else. Let me include this small little fact.....at the same time this was going on, Linda was also navigating stage four cancer of her own.

The word hero is used way too often but it's appropriate here - the most loving, selfless, devoted care you will ever see.

At no stage did Linda consider her financial position while caring for Ray so now it's our time to step up. A lot of you knew Ray and many of you didn't but we hope reading this, you feel motivated to help support Linda given she spent months digging in to her retirement savings.

Some of you that receive this are financially comfortable yet constantly hit up for donations - I implore you to prioritize this one because this is real, it's personal, and it's humanity at its best.

We could only wish for the level of love and dedication that Linda showed Ray so it's important we help alleviate the financial sacrifices she has made so hope you can support this initiative.
