Over the weekend, Powell went to the hospital with labor contractions. Upon arrival, the nurses had trouble finding the baby’s heartbeat. After two ultrasounds, it was determined that they had lost the baby. Sometime between Wednesday and Friday night, she was caught up in her umbilical cord and it wrapped around her body multiple times. Samia “Sam” Emmanuel Benalioulhaj was born June 8th at 9:00 am, weighing 5lbs 9 ounces and measuring 19 inches long. She had lots of brown curly hair and big flippers for feet.

Powell is healthy and strong. They are grieving the sudden and heartbreaking loss of their little girl, even though they trust she is healed now and resting in the presence of God. Khalil, Powell, and Mila are so loved by many of you.
