The Barn: Community Film Production Fund Raiser, To Help Provide Hands On Skills, Experience and Training

We are raising funds to support the production of 'The Barn' - our professionally led community short film production that will be shooting in April 2024 at the Weald and Downlands Museum (where the BBC’s Repair Shop is filmed).

Chichester Filmmakers is a community led non-profit organisation that was launched late in 2023. We support the local community, including film graduates and under-graduates, and aspiring amateur-professionals to work alongside professionals to develop and produce film projects. Founded and led by professionals from the film industry, including crew, costumes & wardrobe, makeup, set design, script development, actors, film score, sound design, and composer teams, editing, screening and distribution (including national and internation film festival). We collaborate with local organisations and are supported by the University Of Chichester, Chichester College, Chichester Festival Theatre, Chichester Community Development Trust, and Chichester City Council. Furthermore, we are really excited and privileged to have approval to film ‘The Barn’ at the Weald and Downland Museum which is fantastic.

The story of The Barn: "The Barn" unfolds a mysterious tale spanning centuries, as a girl's journey through time, starting in the 14th century, becomes intertwined with Norse mythology. Unveiling secrets hidden in a dilapidated barn, she discovers her true identity and realises her true power.

Objectives:
Ultimately we would like to leverage this production to help provide skills and career development opportunities for even more people from Chichester by way of generating funding for a full feature length film which will further assist us in securing funding to support local talent and skills development. To do this, this initial Short Film production needs to be of the highest quality, from script, to shoot, to post-production, and as such we are seeking sufficient funding to fund some of the unavoidable costs and to allow us to pay local actors and local crew expenses on the shoot in April. This sort of production would normally require a budget upwards of £90,000. The professionals are giving their time and resources for free as are the locations and costume creation. But we feel we should try and at least provide for lunches and travel whilst shooting out on location.

Please help:  We really appreciate your support and will be adding your name to the film’s credits as follows:
