Bambu Technologies is hoping to raise funds which will go towards purchasing the necessary equipment for safe cycling commutes. The Bambu Technologies Commuter Safety Project aims to purchase 420 sets, each consisting of a helmet and safety lights, for displaced communities in the Philippines who are impacted by the lack of cheap public transport in the country at the moment. Each set totals to approximately USD $30- helmet is $20 and lights are $10.
In the Philippines, as in many places worldwide, more and more have turned to cycling. Yet, in the country, commuters cannot afford to gear up for their bike rides- the bike itself already takes up a month's wages. This is where Bambu Technologies wants to step in and give back.
