Hi, my name is Mary, and I'm fundraising to purchase the necessary golf equipment and supplies to establish a golf program for autistic individuals. We must meet the needs of every child; therefore, a traditional golf club may not be appropriate for every participant in our program. So instead, we will be providing students with an instructional layered learning experience. First, participants begin using adaptive equipment then slowly transition from near to actual golf equipment.
My vision is to provide a rich learning environment where autistic individuals feel welcome and included in the golfing community. I am a Professional Provider of The Ernie Els #GameON Autism Golf Program. The curriculum integrates golf instruction with autism learning concepts, creating the perfect opportunity to effectively educate coaches to teach autistic individuals the game of golf. In addition, for people with autism, the therapeutic nature of the sport can have a positive effect on those individuals and their families.
My mission is to raise awareness and promote the values of acceptance and inclusion of autistic individuals throughout all golfing communities. When we commit to understanding better and welcoming autistic individuals, we learn more about ourselves and how we can make a difference.
As with any sport, we all begin on different levels of learning. Purchasing the appropriate equipment and supplies is integral to making this a successful program.
