The Andrew FUN'd - '18 Polar Plunge

The Andrew FUN’d was created in memory of my son Andrew for the charitable purpose of providing local children suffering from life-threatening or debilitating illnesses (such as cancer), some form of fun, happiness, and relief from the daily stresses of treatment.  The organization also reaches out to families who have suffered through the unimaginable, the loss of a child. 

After Andrew passed away, one of the hardest things to overcome was enduring the devastating reality of purchasing one less seat to a show, one less ticket to the movies, one less reservation for dinner.  Having other small children well-deserving of their own fun and happiness, staying away from these types of activities wasn’t an option for our family.  Years later, we still buy the extra ticket or the extra toy, knowing it will never be used.  

We soon realized that it isn't only the sick child that suffers -  it is also their siblings.  Not only are they faced with the reality of losing a brother or sister, but for all intents and purposes, they have lost their parents.  Parents who are over-consumed with tending to their ailing child.

This is where the The Andrew FUND’d helps.  We provide the weekend trips, the movie nights, the dinner reservations, the toys, the tickets to the show..........anything that may help.  We hope you will help as well.

Following the success of the previous event, this year’s family-friendly Polar Plunge* will be held at 430 Shore Road, Long Beach, NY.  The event will include fun for all ages including food, drinks, games, auctions, 50/50, and giveaways.
