Half marathon challenge for Pendle Side Hospice ❤️

Hello to anyone who doesn’t know me my name is Tracy I’m a nurse of 20yrs experience I have seen many acts of kindness during my nursing career but in September 2024 I saw kindness in a whole new light, I sadly lost my mum (Lorraine) aged 65 to a 4yr battle of pancreatic cancer, my mum fought with every thing she had she never moaned just got on with life making as many memories as possible we kept my mum at home as long as possible but in July her symptoms couldn’t be managed at home and she was admitted to Pendle side hospice she remained at the hospice for 6 weeks until she lost her fight and sadly passed away very peacefully on the 8th September, I can’t begin to tell you how amazingly kind and caring the staff are ❤️ not just to my mum but to her family as well nothing was ever too much and they really did make a very difficult upsetting time the best it could be! I’ve always liked to run and I promised my mum I would do what I could to give back to the hospice, so I set myself a challenge and promised my mum I would run half a marathon 1st for everything eh I’ll give it my all just like my mum did it’s time to live up to that promise! Please help me in making a difference, I want to raise as much as possible for this amazing place ❤️ donations really do impact the wonderful care they provide. Date for half marathon is 27th April 2025! Wish me luck

More information about Pendleside Hospice: Pendleside Hospice provides care and support to people in the Burnley & Pendle area that have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness. Care is provided free of charge to anyone that needs it either within our Hospice building at Reedley, out in the community or within a patients own home. Care and support is extended to the patients family and carers.
