The Adams Family Heart Warrior

Hi, we are Lexxus & Casey Adams. At 25 weeks our baby boy was diagnosed with a CHD called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) with absent pulmonary valve (APV). It is a combination of 4 abnormalities within his heart along with his missing pulmonary valve. This is something that will require him to have surgeries throughout his life to replace his valve. As he gets older, he will continue to outgrow his valve & will need a new one to keep up with him. His full repair will be a week after he is born. Hopefully he won’t need another until he is about 2 years old and so on. Since finding out we have been trying to figure out a plan for our family. We don’t like asking for help of any kind, but given the circumstances we need all the help we can get. We are scheduled to be induced in July at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis which is about an hour away from where we live. We have 3 kids that will be home while we are at the hospital with the baby. Our two kids are 7 & 4 years old, we also take care of my 15 year old brother in-law as well. We know that this will be just as hard on them as it will be for us so getting something put together now will hopefully help alleviate some of the harder days to come. We don’t know exactly how long he will be in the hospital, but it could be 1-3 months before we can bring him home. All donations will be used to help our family through this challenging time in our lives whether that’s gas, food, continuing to pay our bills, medical bills, and anything our children will need while we are away.
