The Acton’s Adoption Journey
Hello all!
I am so excited to officially announce that the Acton’s have decided to grow their family through the process of adoption! Yay!
For the last couple of years my husband and I have grown very close with the Acton’s and we love them dearly. But if you aren’t familiar with them...
Here is their story:
Chris is a great guy who is super smart and funny from Southern Illinois and Liz is a kind hearted and talented girl who grew up in Michigan. They met in May 2005 at a mall in Flint, Michigan while Chris was there working a summer job. After dating for a few years they decided to move to St. Louis, Missouri to begin their careers. In December 2008 in the car while on the way to work Chris proposed. They were married on 10/10/2009 in front of their family and friends. The Acton’s knew from the beginning they were wanting to grow their family, but after years of battling infertility issues Liz was diagnosed with Asherman’s syndrome in 2019. Since then they have added 3 fur babies to their family named Bing Bing, Douglas, and Carl, celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary in the Bahamas as well as buying and remodeling a beautiful home in Ballwin, Missouri.
There has been much heartache and tears shed these past years but, through it all, they have never once let it change their outlook on their future. I cannot think of a more deserving couple to welcome a beautiful baby into their family. They are gonna be the best parents!
So as we can imagine adoption is EXPENSIVE!Thankfully, Chris and Liz’s employers offer some adoption benefits, but it’s a small fraction of the overall cost. I wanted to start this fund to help relieve a little of the financial stress that comes with the process. If you can help in any way, big or small, it would be so appreciated! If you can only offer support and prayers that is awesome as well! As they say, it takes a tribe to raise a child and the Acton’s are on their way to doing just that! Let’s give them all the support they need!
