The 1 Community Together Event

Over the last 6 months we have had multiple shootings in Washington DC. Some have been fatal, but all have left our community and families devastated. Several of these shootings have occurred in my surrounding neighborhoods.
For this reason several families, men, women, and community members have come together to launch the 1 Community Initiative focused on bringing the Eastland Gardens, Mayfair, Kenilworth, Parkside, and Paradise neighborhoods together around a series of events and activities for young people and families in our community.
The first event is a Free Community Cookout to occur July 6th from 12noon-3pm @ Kenilwork Park Recreation Center - 4321 Ord St. NE, Washington DC
THIS EVENT IS NOT GOVERNMENT SPONSORED NOR AFFILIATED WITH ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY OR ADVISORY NEIGHBORHOOD COMMISSION (ANC)
The funds raised will be used to by food to feed the community as well as other giveaways and entertainment. We believe $5000 will cover all of the expenses.
Please support as much as you can as soon as possible. The date is a week away.
