As many of you may have seen, September 12, 2019 was the last day printed copies of the Express will be printed and distributed at metro stations throughout the greater DC area. This news came as a shock to many people, including our own Dupont Express distributor Hassan, who found out only the morning the final paper was printed that he would be out of a job.
For the past few years Hassan has been a welcome presence each morning, always there to greet you with a smile and a newspaper and wish you the best for your day. His dedication to his role, no matter what the weather, is a testament to his work ethic and spirit, and I know he brightened my day more times than I can count.
Since the closing of the Express took Hassan by surprise, he did not have the opportunity to line up another job before the end of his current role. While he is already hard at work looking for new opportunities, I would love to bring the community together to thank him for his time at the Express, and give him a little something to get him through in the coming weeks.
If you have the means to contribute, please consider donating to this gofundme campaign. No amount is too small, and I know that Hassan will appreciate anything that the Dupont community is able to put together on his behalf. Thank you in advance for your donations, and thank you Hassan for several wonderful years as our Express distributor!
