Thanksgiving in Paradise

Right now, at this very moment more than 8,500 families have been left homeless, without clean clothes, running water, or electricity after surviving the worst fire in California history.  The Camp Fire in Paradise, CA has left 52,000 men, women, and children with no place to go, living out of tents, and out of their cars as they struggle to figure out how to piece their lives back together.  Many have not only lost their homes, but their jobs, their savings, and loved ones as the fire destroyed everything in its path.  Schools, hospitals, banks, and even the fire department and police station are all gone.  This is truly a humanitarian crisis unlike anything we've ever seen here in California, and as Californians, I feel it is important that we band together to show our love, and support anyway possible, even as we struggle to recover from the Woosley Fire that struck many of us here so close to home.  But it is especially important to me, at this moment in our history, and as we all prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, that I feel personally called to BE OF SERVICE to others.  So with your support, and anyone willing and able to join us, we will be spending Thanksgiving in Paradise.  

Not everyone can take time off to show their support in a way I know everyone would like to, so we will be going for you.  This Thanksgiving, we will be spending our time with other families in need.  We will be the boots on the ground for all of our friends here in LA who want to support families in Paradise effected by the fires by providing food, water, toiletries, and any other necessary supplies.  Every donation counts!  Even if its just $5.00.  That will help us buy socks, or even a Thanksgiving meal for a child.  

Here is what you can expect with your donations:

1) 100% of your donations will go towards supporting families effected by the Camp Fire.

2) We will be traveling to Paradise with a truck and RV and staying for the next week to assist in supporting those effected by the fire.

3) We will post regular updates of how your donations are being used to support families in Paradise effected by the fire.

4) We will post copies of all expenses and receipts from the funds used from your donations so you know exactly how your money is supporting those in need. 

5) This GoFundMe has been set up through Tipping The Scale, a 501c3 non-profit organization, EIN# 27-0673069.  All donations are tax deductible.

6) As the organizer of this campaign, I am 100% accountable for how your donations are used, and I take that responsibility seriously.
