Thanksgiving for Standing Rock

A California Native Caravan of support is headed to Standing Rock for the week of Thanksgiving. Caroline Ward-Holland {Tataviam Nation} of the 780 mile Walk for the Ancestors with California Native ceremonial leader Laughing Coyote {Mono} and others in solidarity are bringing their spirit, medicine, and supplies to the Water Protectors of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation. We humbly ask for your support to get us there and invite you to contribute to the Standing Rock Sioux efforts.
As the world has recently witnessed, North Dakota law enforcement and government officials have colluded with Energy Transfer Partners (the multi-billion dollar oil corporation behind Dakota Access Pipeline) to violate Native American legal, civil, and political rights, including suppression of freedom speech in order to ensure the pipeline is completed. Images and video of riot police brutalizing Native Americans peacefully protesting the multi-billion dollar pipeline project have has seen all over the world; and is testament to the continuing oppression and state sponsored violence directed at Native peoples in the United States of America.
Now that we you have supported us to meet our travel expenses we keep expanding our goal to fullfill the needs of the camp. Winters are brutal in North Dakota and a lot is needed to get through it. Purchasing firewood is a major priority and a lot is needed. Fire extinguishers, Carbon Monoxide sensors, blankets, supplies, and more. Now that we've reached our transportation goal, every dollar will go to supplies that will go directly to the camp needs. The Water Protectors plan to be encamped at the site as long as it takes to stop the pipeline project, and therefore need as much support as they can get. Any monetary contributions beyond traveling expenses and supplies will be a Thanksgiving donation to the Standing Rock Sioux Nation.
Your monetary donations will assist in helping stop the Dakota Access Pipeline and will bring a fresh group of supporters to the Water Protectors. We are leaving on November 18th so your support is urgently needed. If you are inspired, please share this campaign with friends.
