This year has been tough for so many families. With the economy the way it is and now with the current government shutdown a lot of hardworking people aren’t getting paid, and the holidays may not come as easily this year.

A while back, my family and I came together to give out turkeys, sides, and bags of food to those in need. It was one of the most beautiful experiences, full of gratitude, unity, and love. That moment reminded me how powerful it is when people come together for something good.

Now, I want to do it again, this time reaching as many families as we can. Every donation, big or small, will help provide food and hope to those who could really use it this holiday season.

My name is Nicole Johnson. I’m a 5th grade teacher, author, and poet. I’m from San Antonio, Texas, and currently reside in Killeen. I’m also a proud daughter and sister of military veterans and a true believer in spreading and sharing blessings. Thanksgiving is the season to give, and I plan on doing just that.

All funds will be spent purchasing food, such as turkeys, sides, and other Thanksgiving essentials , to share with families in need in our community.
