I'll be turning 50 at the end of this year and am planning a weekend of fun! And I would love to raise some money to take my volunteers out, early next year, and celebrate how awesome they are and how proud I am to be working with them!
After going through a couple of horribly dark years recently, 2024 marked a massive change in my life as I started running Café Abundance, as a volunteer, and then, in parallel, began working as the Community Chef at Leadworks, eventually also taking on the role of Stonehouse Community Fridge Coordinator.
Developing and getting to know these 3 teams has been enormously gratifying, and I'd absolutely love to take each team out for a social, to celebrate them and to thank them.
I am taking home less than the minimum wage so I am not able to fund such socials, hence this fundraiser :)
So... if you would like to mark my birthday - thank you - and instead of getting me a card or a present, could you please make a donation towards this plan?
On Sat 21 Dec, on my actual birthday, I'm organising a mini triathlon:
1. Cycling from Millbrook (where I live) to Plymouth through some of the city's green spaces and then to the Royal William Yard
2. Running a loop around that area
3. Swimming at Tranquility Bay
Followed by lunch at the Seco Lounge
This triathlon is purely for fun, we'll go at our own individual pace, it is not a race
(£10 suggested donation to take part in this triathlon)
On Sun 22 Dec, pot luck lunch at Leadworks (170 Rendle Street, Stonehouse, Plymouth) where we bring something to eat/drink that we will then share, followed by an afternoon playing board games (which I adore!).
You are warmly invited to take part in either or both days, in which case let me know so that I can send you more details about ze plans!
A most grateful,
Patricia
