Thankful for Drew, Catherine, and The Arsenal
Donation protected
In 2005 I had just moved back to West LA after an exile in the smoldering San Fernando Valley and discovered The Arsenal.
It was there I met an energetic, friendly, and motivated barback named Drew.
The Arsenal staff, and particularly Drew, always greeted us by name and with a huge smile. The Arsenal quickly became my favorite watering hole. In those days there were looooong lines to get in to The Arsenal, especially on weekends. If Drew knew we were waiting, he would come outside to grab us. He treated us like VIPs!
Over the course of the next 10+ years, I watched Drew HUSTLE. He shed blood, sweat, and tears as he worked his way up to bartender, head bartender, general manager, and eventually owner of The Arsenal. It was a dream that was fought for and had finally come true.
Drew and Catherine made each visit to The Arsenal feel like coming home. It was our version of "Cheers" and we had so many amazing experiences there.
To name a few were the Halloween parties, New Years Eves, numerous birthdays, trivia, staying after closing to finish our drinks as they cleaned up, taste testing of new drinks and food items (Juicy Lucy anyone?), baby shower (come again?), or just a beer after a long day of work.
Drew and Catherine provided an environment where so many lasting friendships were forged.
In 2016 I met my future girlfriend at The Arsenal.
In 2020 we planned our engagement party at The Arsenal.
The Covid shutdown forced our party to be canceled and eventually forced Drew and Catherine to shutter The Arsenal permanently. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to close after all those years of dedication.
Drew and Catherine are a loving, supportive, and amazing couple. They welcomed me to their business, their home, and their hearts and they will very soon welcome a new baby to the world!
Any contribution to help support them in this next phase of their lives would be generous and appreciated.
Let keep the positive energy of The Arsenal alive.
