Today, Senator Mitt Romney was the sole Republican to vote to convict President Donald Trump in the Senate impeachment trial over abuse of power.
As the sole Republican voice it took tremendous courage for him stray from the pack and vote his conscience.
In his historic words:
"Corrupting an election process in a democratic republic is about as abusive and egregious an act against the Constitution — and one’s oath — that I can imagine. It’s what autocrats do."
“The president is guilty of an appalling abuse of public trust... What he did was a flagrant assault on our electoral rights, our national security, and our fundamental values.”
For taking this ethical and Constitutional stance, he is now getting aggressively verbally attacked by those who blindly worship Trump, so we need to give him some love!
