Thank You Harrigan's For Serving Our Community

Dear Friends and Community Members
There isn't a family who hasn't opened the door to Harrigan's Red & White in Southampton, been greeted by the sound of the old cow bell ringing, crossed the threshold onto the old creaking wood floors within, and felt that they had stepped back in time and arrived "home".
To say that we will all miss Mary Ellen and Dave's Harrigan's - our beloved hometown grocery store - when its doors close on October 31, 2020 after 35 years of service, is an understatement. They have been such an important part of the fabric of this community ... and now we have our chance to say Thank You.
Please consider making a donation to this special retirement gift fund campaign so that we can express our gratitude to Mary Ellen and Dave Harrigan for their dedication and service to our community.

Countless families over the decades have walked into Harrigan's to buy baked goods, an ice cream cone, or a missing food ingredient. Many more have relied upon Harrigan's for everyday items, meats, sandwiches, and sometimes a refuge in winter storms where a cup of coffee and cinnamon bun was always available.
Mary Ellen Harrigan can often be found working behind the old fashioned conveyer belt counter, apron on, a familiar and stalwart figure in the Harrigan's store that we all adore. "Hard work" fails to describe the tenacity and strength of character that this small, rosy cheeked woman with the large expressive eyes devoted to Harrigan's.
Mary Ellen works seven days a week, from dawn til dusk for months on end each year. She places orders, stocks shelves, bakes, supports local growers and suppliers, provides employment, assembles custom orders, caters events, prepares food for Meals on Wheels, shoulders the pressures of a changing business, family life, all while pouring her heart and soul, her sweat and tears, her family's future, and her commitment to this community into running Harrigan's.
Harrigan's never was just a place to shop, it has always been a family business and a family event for customers; Mary Ellen truly feeds the soul of the community.
Kindly share with all your friends via email, twitter, facebook or your social media option of choice, so that everyone in the community has an opportunity to contribute.
Thank you very much for your support!
