My loving father, Rubin Garcia, sadly and tragically passed away on September 3, 2025. The weekend before his passing, we made a plan to spend Labor Day together. I wanted to see my parents so badly that day, but unfortunately, our plans fell through. My communication with my dad always consisted of love, support, and the anticipation of having dinner together. I was always his baby girl and always tried to make him proud. After our plans were canceled Monday, I could never have known the next plans I would make were the ones for his funeral. I am completely devastated; I will never have another dinner with him. No more fishing trips. He won't be at my college graduation, and he won't walk me down the aisle when I get married someday. If I ever have children, they will never know him except for the beautiful stories everyone has to share of him. All of my dreams with him are shattered, and I am left heartbroken and destroyed.

To honor my father, I have planned a beautiful memorial and homecoming service to happen very soon. I have been overwhelmed with the many people who knew and loved my dad. So many people have reached out and want to help honor his memory as the amazing father, friend, brother, uncle, husband, and colleague he was to everyone in his life.

Thank you for loving my dad and being the silver lining in this terrible and tragic dark cloud. I have so much I need to get through this unexpected grief, but I am grateful for the love I'm receiving on my dad's behalf from heaven.
