Thank you Exeter NHS

Updated Post (26th May 2021)

We are winding down the appeal now after an incredible few months. We have (to date) individually thanked 1300 Exeter NHS staff. We are no longer taking donations but we will be doing a few more surprise drops to NHS staff before we finish. Keep up to date on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/thankyouexeternhs

Thank you so very very much to everyone who has donated funds and items and to all our wonderful volunteers collecting items and delivering them and doing promotion and press etc. What an incredible team.

Pandemic or not... please keep being kind to each other xxx

.......................................

We are saying thank you to our incredible Exeter NHS staff by sending them individual gift bags full of lovely things and thank you cards hand-made by local children (and adults). To help - you can either order items direct and have them sent to us or make a donation on here so we can buy items for the gift bags. We need pamper items like bubble bath plus hand and face creams, shower gels, hair care, chocolates and sweets, cosy socks, little candles etc.

There are over 9,000 NHS staff in Exeter and our campaign has already thanked the following 928 staff:

All the 150 staff at The Nightingale Hospital
300 staff on Torridge, Kenn,  Bovey & Culm Wards at Exeter RD&E hospital
51 staff at the Pinhoe and Broadclyst Surgeries
287 staff in the Acute Medicine Unit at RD&E hospital
140 staff at 4 health centres - St Thomas, Exwick, Pathfinder Village and Student Health Centre

As it costs between £2 and £6 to make up a gift bag (depending on the items we have also been donated), we are quite low on funds right now.  BUT......we will keep giving out thank you gift bags to more NHS staff as long as this appeal is supported.  This was started by Sharon two months ago and now there's about a dozen kind-hearted volunteers involved collecting items in their areas and helping deliver the completed gift bags to wherever they need to go.

We are so thankful to everyone who has helped so far and we know that the staff who are working so very hard are grateful for your thank you's too as many have messaged us.  This is a time when we all need to pull together as a community here in Exeter. We hope these small gifts will make a difference to our very own NHS heroes at the end of a long shift and show them just how much we appreciate everything they do for us.

Here is a link to our Facebook page with more information plus where to send items https://www.facebook.com/thankyouexeternhs

Don't forget you can help us by sharing this crowdfunder with friends and family, thank you.
