A Secret Celtics Thank You For Mr. Gillis!

Hello HFA nation! We, the staff and faculty of Holy Family Academy, come to you with a secret mission!

Please do not reveal this GoFundMe's existence to Mr. Mark Gillis, Head of School at HFA. This is for him!

Mr. Gillis passed his 10 years at HFA last year, and he passed his 30 years as a teacher two years ago. These great milestones for Mr. Gillis and HFA. Mr. Gillis, in his humility, did not bring these special events to anyone's attention.

Anyone who spends time with Mr. Gillis knows that he turns any attention from himself to those around him. He's helped teachers move, given people rides, bought lunches, covered classes, fixed cars, delivered nerf-guns to boys in mourning, and many, many other acts of Christian kindness.

In fact, we are willing that bet that everyone at HFA has either A) asked Mr. Gillis to help them personally (which he has done), B) knows someone that has been personally helped by Mr. Gillis, or C) both.

Because of all this, we would like to give Mr. Gillis a gift. One time he confided in some of us that he would, just once in his life, like to be on the floor at a Celtics game.

We would like to give Mr. Gillis 3 floor tickets to a Celtics game. We would like to give this to him at the April 10th Benefit Banquet. All donations will go towards this purchase.

We know that the cost of floor seats at a Celtics game is a very, very large sum of money. It was our hope to receive modest donations from a large number of people since Mr. Gillis has helped a large number of people. We certainly did not expect large sums to be donated by individuals, and we do not wish to put any undue pressure or requests on anyone. It is our hope that many hands will make light work.

Any amount raised will go towards this gift for Mr. Gillis. If we are able to raise the required amount for floor seats, that will be wonderful! But no matter the amount we raise, we will obtain the best seats we can.

Also, if anyone happens to know how we could acquire seats a bit cheaper, please let us know.

PS: All those who give will be added to a faculty prayer list, and we will offer a 20 decade rosary in gratitude for all those who donate. This isn't bribery, just good, clean, religious incentivizing.
