Thank A Hero - Visalia and Tulare County

Many people in our community are hurting every time they look into the eyes of our law enforcement officers.  They are beat and wore down, tired and exhausted.  We know the system needs change, but the individuals who serve us, are not the system.  They are our family members, friends and neighbors.  As a way of saying thank you for all you do, day in and day out, a group of community members are starting this Thank A Hero fund.  All donations will be tax deductible.

The goal of this fund is to raise $150 per officer with which we will purchase a gift certificate from a Visalia business who supplies law enforcement.  This fundraiser will give our officers a uniform paid for by the community (or something else if the officer is not in need of a uniform), it will give a local business what it needs to pull out of this slump it has been placed in, and it will allow our community members who want to write a check as a way of saying "thank you" a means to do so.

This idea started with a little group of business owners who wanted to be involved.  They have since invited other business owners and the desire to help is blowing up.

We will be raising $23,250 for VPD, $7,200 for CHP in Visalia and $123,000 for TCSO.

Altogether our goal is $153,450.  This will give each officer a nice showing of appreciation in the form of a gift certificate.
