Michael’s Journey

Hi, my name is Sharon and I am here asking for help for my sweet man, my superhero and my love.

Last year, on an ordinary morning, his life was changed forever. He woke up and decided to NOT go for a run that morning because it was too cold and he didn’t have running long Johns. I am thankful for that every day. What was supposed to be an ordinary day turned into one of the scariest of my and his life.

That morning after he got out of bed feeling perfectly fine, Michael suffered an aortic tear from the tip of his aorta all the way down to his right leg. We are told that less than 2% of people survive the type of aortic tear that he suffered.

Michael spent 6 months in 3 hospitals. He had pneumonia, kidney failure and amputations that were caused by the 6 and a half hour surgery and medications he was put on.

Since being out of the hospital he has had several more surgeries. He has come very, very far but he still has a long road ahead of him. He currently needs a wheelchair for mobility and suffers with horrible pain every day.

We have a mountain of medical debt and we were recently informed that the home we live in is being sold.

We want and very much need to be with family for help, their love and support and they are in Minnesota.

I am here to ask for your help with getting us there and help with medical bills.
