Supporting Families in Kokrobite, Ghana ❤️

Donation protected
Here we go again! ❤️☀️

My next trip to Ghana is just around the corner, and after the enormous success of my previous Go Fund Me page, spurred on by lots of people having already asked me whether I'm going to set up a new donation page, I've decided to take the plunge and give it another whirl.

Last time around you amazingly generous people donated £1100 which quite literally changed lives during my visit in March. Thank you SO much to the many people who donated, you are such wonderful people and I love you. Your donations went towards:

• The building (from scratch!) and kitting out of a entire container shop for a start up hairdressing business
• 12 x malaria test and treatment kits
• 2 X eye tests, treatments and sets of prescription glasses
•The reunion of two beautiful girls with their Mummy & the necessary clothes, shoes & provisions needed for them given they returned with nothing
• A whole years rent, water, gas electric & furniture for said family
• 7 x children's school fees
• Endless compulsory school books, stationary & educational resources
• 4 x medical bills for typhoid and malaria inpatient stays for poorly children
• 3 x huge grocery shops (fresh and frozen) for three families
• A follow up health check for my boy Eric following his surgery last year
• 6 months water and electric for 3 families

This time around, although I tend to go with the flow and help when a need presents, there are already a few things on my radar that I'm keen to support with, including:

• SEN school fees for a beautiful little boy with with Downs Syndrome - unfortunately SEN provision and understanding is poor in typical government Ghanaian schools and this child is sadly being caned & held back due to not keeping up with his peers. There are several SEN schools locally which have good reputations that I'd like to explore with his family
• The finishing touches for the hairdressing salon - we need a few more roofing sheets & some boarding to finish the inside so it's ready for the rainy season (I've already got a hood salon drier in my garage that I'm somehow planning to pack?!!)
• Support with building costs to finish an ongoing house build for an amazing single father and his children
• School fees, school fees and more school fees!
• And as always, vital malaria testing & treatment kits

Plus whatever else comes my way once there! Like everywhere, living is difficult in Ghana currently, with inflation and costs rising dramatically. Kokrobite is a poor fishing town, with most people struggling to make ends meet due to low salaries and high costs of living. This means more families than ever are typically living hand to mouth, often unable to send their children to school or pay for necessary medical treatment.

This is the second time I've done this sort of thing now, but it still feels so unnerving to be asking for monetary donations as I've always just covered as many costs as I can myself. I know times are tough for a lot of people right now, so there's absolutely no pressure or expectation from me. However, if by setting up this page I'm able to help a few more incredible and deserving people in the community that I've loved so deeply for 14 years, then it's a win from me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, sharing where you can and if you chose to & are able, for your generosity and kindness with a cause so close to my heart.
