For over 20 years, Bob has been the backbone of our team at the Living Valley Health Retreat. He is one of the most committed and long-standing staff members we’ve ever had. Known for his selflessness and unwavering dedication, Bob has always put others first, lending a helping hand to anyone in need without hesitation.

Two weeks ago, tragedy struck. During his days off, Bob returned to his rural property outside Gympie to find his world turned upside down. Thieves had ransacked his home and his shipping container, making off with everything he owned. They brazenly snapped the chain securing the container and broke into his house, leaving nothing behind but heartache.

Among the many stolen items were:

• A brand-new John Deere ride-on mower (valued at $9,500, with just 9 hours of use)

• Decades’ worth of woodworking tools, including his milling saw and and saw bench, irreplaceable for Bob’s craft and passion

• 2 x Mountain Bikes

• 2 x Whipper Snippers

• Generator for Electricity

• Gerni

• Lifelong collection of tools, including all his power tools

• Furniture, including a brand-new lounge suite worth $1,400

• A brand-new stovetop he had just installed

• Many other items collected over a lifetime of hard work.

Bob had poured his savings, long service leave, and even cashed out his holiday leave to purchase the ride-on mower, which he was using to maintain the property he’s been building for his retirement. This property was his dream—his sanctuary for his golden years—and now, it’s been stripped bare.

Bob is an incredibly humble man. He would never ask for help himself, so with the support of his two daughters, we are stepping up to ask on his behalf. Bob has given so much to others throughout his life. It’s time we come together to give back to this beautiful soul and help him rebuild.

Unfortunately Bob didn't have insurance, so funds raised will go towards replacing his essential household items, home furnishings, tools, and any equipment he needs to restore his home, property and his hope for the future. Our goal is to ensure that Bob doesn’t have to spend the next several years working tirelessly to make up for what’s been taken from him.
