Help Tera & the Kiddos Get Home

My name is Tera, and I'm a single mom of 4 amazing kids. My youngest two, both currently 2yo, were born with severe medical challenges, including Hydrocephalus, Autism, and seizure. During the diagnosis process, the other parent was unable to cope, and I abruptly became the sole caregiver and primary provider at the beginning of 2024. Shortly after, my only car died, and my job of 17yrs went out of business. With help from Safenest, Social Services, and a few kind friends/family, we made it safely through the hardest time of our lives, and I'm so grateful. We've overcome medical obstacles and hospital visits, I got my business license so I can work from home, and I was awarded sole custody of my disabled toddlers, self represented. Unfortunately, during this same time period, Social Services exposed alarming legal issues with my landlord here in Las Vegas, and it recently became necessary to plan a move. Being both caregiver and provider simultaneously, as well as facilitating therapies, and doctor appointments, makes it impossible to keep up with the rising costs in Nevada. I've been struggling to catch up for over a year since my former partner moved out, with the bills already months behind, but now I've been approved for a beautiful rental home in Michigan for around half of what I pay in Nevada, right up the road from three hospitals, and leading specialists in neurology for my children. I can afford a life for us there! ❤️

While moving 4 kids cross-country alone is SUPER daunting, I couldn't be more excited to start fresh and build a good, sustainable life for my kids! This is where I need your help, just to get started. I've been struggling already, but the added expenses of moving our belongings, though we aren't bringing much, a rental car, fuel, road trip meals for 5, 3-4 motel nights, rental car deposit, rental home deposit, and a few days off from work to drive cross country, is so much more money than I can come up with alone at this time. I desperately need help getting to a sustainable place, and I'll happily pay forward any help I receive!

It is my deepest hope for us to get moved into our new, affordable home this month, so I can finally catch up, breathe, and not feel like we're always one emergency away from eviction.
