Situated in the desert of northeast LA County, Temple of Sapir will be a peaceful haven for spiritual seekers, facilitators, artists, and creatives looking to explore themselves and build community. Here, we will offer a unique blend of workshops, retreats, ceremonies, and residencies to become a place where creativity meets spirituality. Our mission is to provide and curate a collaborative space for those eager to expand their practices, share their gifts, and find community.
Ultimately, we envision Temple of Sapir as a vibrant community grounded in our own programming, yet open to the contributions of others. While our core offerings are rooted in earth-based Jewish ritual and the arts, we welcome outside proposals from aligned individuals or organizations. Whether as a host site for a sculpture workshop, a philosophy gathering, or a healing retreat, we aim to provide space and tools for people to co-create transformative experiences.
We are currently seeking $20,000 in initial funding. This phase of funding will allow us to engage our architect and building partner, Pangea Biotecture, whose design process includes architectural and construction drawings, permitting, master planning and off-grid living systems design.
As part of our partnership, we will open our build site to students and community members through hands-on sustainable construction workshops. This approach significantly reduces labor costs while responding to increasing demand for ecological and alternative building education. In light of growing climate challenges and the environmental events created by them, we feel this is an invaluable opportunity for our community.
We welcome aligned investors, grant-makers, and collaborators who believe in supporting radical, regenerative spaces rooted in art, spirit, and collective healing.
