Tell Bunnings & TfNSW to keep Tempe traffic safe!

We're trying to raise $1000 so we can buy at least 100x large corflute signs to go in front of people's homes on the affected local streets and 3x large banners to be hung in prominent areas for maximum exposure. These visuals will help generate attention and help secure media interest in this important story.

If we have additional funds remaining or we exceed our target, we can run a hyper-targeted ad campaign on Facebook.

Please help by chipping in whatever you can!

About the Campaign
The Safe Traffic Plan for Bunnings Tempe campaign is to avoid 1,650+ cars/day being funnelled down narrow, local Tempe Streets, where kids play and walk to their primary school, which is the current traffic plan for the Bunnings Tempe site. That's 30% of Bunnings traffic being sent down Union Street and subsequent streets - a hazard to residents and kids in the area! Their plan also includes traffic crossing 3 highway lanes, a cycleway and pedestrian path - unsignalised - to get into Bunnings!

We're campaigning for a safer traffic plan to be implemented for the site - where traffic exits directly onto the Princes Highway (just like for IKEA), north of the Bunnings site - allowing a simple one-way flow of traffic, in via Smith Street and out via the Princes Highway - avoiding local streets being used as a rat run of traffic, and reducing the impacts on Smith Street which is proposed as both the entry and exit. This was originally proposed by Bunnings but was later dropped after opposition from Transport for NSW. We now know that an additional set of traffic signals would be within the TfNSW guidelines for a safe gap between existing signals, so we are imploring Bunnings, Inner West Council and TfNSW to work together to implement this solution to ensure Tempe residents remain safe.

This is a common sense solution, but we now need to step up our game to get the attention of Bunnings and Transport for NSW.
