Ted and Albie were both born with TOF/OA in 2020. Both were unable to swallow and had to have life saving surgery in their first days of life, and will need lifelong support. Through the adversity of COVID we connected as families and have supported each other through some pretty tough times including various operations, hospital admissions and the general day to day things life with a little TOF throws at you.
So when the opportunity to raise money for the mental health of TOFS and the TOFS charity came up we thought it would be nice for them to get together and walk 5k for the great Teddy Toddle.
On Sunday 22nd June - Albie and Ted completed a 5k walk and both absolutely smashed it - they completed it in 2 hours and 20 minutes (there were a few distractions on the way). And a special shout out to Albies little brother Ronnie who joined them!
We are so proud of our little boys and how far they have come, but every other day when a baby with this condition is born, there is a lost family trying to make sense of what life will be like, and a child who has to navigate life in a different way. They need the support of the amazing charity TOFS - just like we did then, now and in the future. As a small charity they rely on donations from the family and friends of TOFS as it’s such an unknown and rare condition and we hope that we can give back to that charity through this fundraiser.
TOFS are using the money donated from the Teddy Toddle and Big Give campaign to support the mental health of TOFS.
We will be donating the amount raised through Gofundme to the Big Give Campaign on 30th June, which is doubling any donation received so the TOFS charity can get even more support to raise awareness and give advice.
Thanks for taking the time to read and donate x
