Dear friends and family,
As you know, I am active in the Boy Scouts and currently working on my Eagle project. Only 4% of all Scouts earn the rank of Eagle. It is a leadership project that will take me over a year to complete.
My project will benefit the employees of the Chancery of the Diocese of Oakland at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. The scope the project is to train up to 40 employees in common sense CPR and first aid so that in the case of emergency or disaster, they are prepared to assess and assist their co-workers.
There are three stages to the project: 1) Become ASHI certified CPR trained—February 17, 2020, 2) Train Scouts in Troop 6 to assist me in training employees—April 8, 2020, 3) Train employees with assistance of Troop 6 on June 8-9, 2020.
It order to properly train in CPR and first aid, I need to rent up to eight CPR dummies and a practice defibrillator, and to purchase some first aid materials. It is my goal to provide each employee with a small first aid kit that they can keep in their desk drawer along with a infographic reminding them of steps to common sense CPR and first aid.
I've been in Scouting since I was a Cub Scout in first grade and have enjoyed opportunities that have shaped my character and given me the discipline to excel in many aspect of learning and life. For example, I went to Philmont Scout Ranch last summer where we hiked 80 miles in 8 days and was chosen to represent my Troop at the World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia. This summer I'm going to Sea Base in the Florida Keys and NOAC in Upstate Michigan.
With your help, I hope to raise $1,500 by May 15, 2020 and appreciate any donation you might be willing to make to help me achieve my goal of earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
