Technology for the NB Womens Shelter

The Northern Beaches Womens Shelter provides a safe haven for women who are homeless due to physical, emotional or sexual abuse, family breakdown, financial strife, domestic violence, mental health issues or lack of affordable housing. The shelter receives 10 percent in government funding and the rest is raised by community support.

Now more than ever, the shelter is a crucial service in our community.

A group of North Balgowlah families have banded together to provide regular, consistent support to the shelter, in the form of meals, hygiene products, clothing and so on.

We have recently learned that some of the women are doing online courses and also trying to keep healthy during lockdown with online yoga and fitness classes, however currently the shelter has only one laptop to be shared between more than 14 residents. We would like to raise funds to purchase 2-3 new devices for the shelter so that the women can continue their studies and maintain their fitness.

The shelter does amazing work in assisting women to rebuild their lives, and we believe that having the right technology available is an integral part of this endeavour. Please support by donating what you can.
