Who are we?

We are Team 434, the Molokai Middle School Robotics team, and founding members of the Molokai VEX IQ Robotics League. We consist of six dedicated students from grades 7 and 8, three girls  and three boys. On February 6th 2016, our team placed in the top seven teams out of the best 39 middle school teams in the whole state of Hawai’i. Team 434 was awarded the Excellence Award, “The highest award presented in the Vex IQ program that exemplifies overall excellence” in all of the Vex IQ Robotics events. By doing so, we qualified for the 2016 Vex IQ Worlds Competition.

What are we fundraising for?

Team 434 is raising funds to attend the 2016 Vex IQ Worlds Competition, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky from April 20th to April 23rd.

How will the money be used?

The funds will be used directly for airfare, accommodations, transportation, food, and other travel expenses for our team. These funds would be solely for the six members of Team 434 with our two coaches.

How soon will we need the funds?

We hope to raise these funds by or before April 17th 2016.

Why does this means so much to us?

This opportunity would provide us a great experience by allowing us to represent our small island community. We come from a very humble, rural place where invitations to national level competitions are seldom and few. We will strive to try our hardest to make our families, school, community, and supporters like you proud. Your belief in us means the World!

We would be so grateful to have the chance to perform at this level with students at the same age as we are from all around the world.  They share the same interests as us and cooperate and compete with us in a once in a lifetime opportunity.  We believe it will be an amazing experience. With your support, we will be able to show first hand that even coming from Moloka’i, the sky’s the limit.
