Team Warrior – Fighting Dementia Together in Graham's Memory
Almost a year ago, on D-Day, I lost my dad, Graham, after an eleven-year battle with dementia. It was a slow, painful goodbye—one that began with a massive stroke that took his voice, and ended with the loss of his memory, his independence, and the vibrant man we all knew and loved.
My dad was strong, intelligent, and quietly brilliant. A gifted golfer, rugby player, and skier, he had a sharp wit and a kind heart. Watching dementia take that away was devastating. That’s why I’m not facing this next challenge alone.
Alongside three incredible friends—Christian, Chris, and Johnny—we’re taking on the Total Warrior Challenge: a brutal 12km course packed with 25 punishing obstacles, from freezing water crawls to electric shocks. We’re doing it as a team, in my dad’s memory, and for every family who’s been touched by this cruel disease.
This journey hasn’t been easy. I’m recovering from a fall that left me struggling to run even 1km, and I’m still managing old rugby injuries. But with my mates by my side, I’m more determined than ever. We’re pushing through the pain, the setbacks, and the self-doubt—because this cause is bigger than us.
We’re raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, the UK’s leading dementia research charity. Every donation helps fund life-changing research to find a cure and prevent other families from going through what we did.
Please support Team Bingley and Baildon Poodles! Help us honor my dad, and fight for a future free from dementia.
