Team Smile Train - Great Chili Cookoff

For the tenth year, I will be entering Louisville's Great Chili Cook Off Sunday October 9th at the intersection of East Market St and South Shelby St (NULU Area). With the help of friends our team does this to raise money for Smile Train.

Smile Train is a charity that raises awareness and funds cleft lip and palate surgeries in developing countries. Every year, thousands of children in developing countries are born with disfiguring clefts and most of their families cannot afford the surgery. Many children with clefts around the world live in isolation, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing, hearing, and speaking. They will never know the simple joys that we take for granted, like going to school or making friends. This organization helps these underprivileged children with their correctable clefts and allows them to lead normal lives.

For every donation we receive at our booth, no matter how large or small, we will be giving out free bowls of chili, chili dogs and chili fries with all the “fixins”. Our group will be there early cooking the chili but it kicks off at 12:00 pm and goes on till a little past 6:00 pm. Stop by and see us and enjoy some good food for a great cause.

The last few years we participated with great success that provided several cleft surgeries for children in need. With your help I hope we can do even better this year!
