Team Nix is Dominican Bound!!!

In February 2025, Team Nix will be headed to the Dominican Republic as part of a team from Immanuel Bible Church's Music and Worship Ministry, where we will take part in a short-term mission trip. This opportunity is extra special for us as it involves every single Nix (all EIGHT of us!), and we are thrilled to be traveling together on our first FAMILY missions trip.

During our time in the Dominican Republic, we will be sharing the gospel in the communities of Santo Domingo and San Pedro. Our ministry will focus on two main areas:

1. Supporting Local Churches: We'll be working alongside local worship programs, teaching worship theology, and leading skills classes for churches that are just getting started. We hope to equip them with tools and encouragement to grow their worship ministries.

2. Children's Choir Workshops: Several children's choir families and youth choir members (our children included) will play a vital role in helping as we work with local children through choir workshops. This is the area where Team Nix will be most involved, with Kelley creating the lessons/teaching and our family actively serving together in this area. We pray these workshops will be an opportunity to build relationships, teach songs with rich lyrics and musical concepts, and inspire the next generation of worshipers.

This trip is a wonderful opportunity to share God’s love with others, and we are eager to see how He will use our family and our team for His glory.

We are asking for two things from you:

1. Your Prayers and Encouragement – Please pray for our family’s health and safety, for smooth travel, and for our ability to connect with the people we will serve. Pray that God would prepare the hearts of those we will meet and work with, and that His message of love and hope would shine through our actions and words. As you see our kiddos around, encourage them in their work and preparation for this trip. This is a completely new experience for most of them, and your words of encouragement would be a blessing.

2. Your Financial Support – In addition to prayer, if you feel led to contribute financially, we would greatly appreciate any support to help cover the costs of our trip. Your generosity would allow us to focus fully on serving while we are there, and even as we prepare. If you are interested in supporting us in this way, donations can be made in several ways:

(To give through the church website, select the DR Music & Worship trip from the pull-down list and write "Nix Family" under the participant's name.) If you prefer to write a check, it can be made payable to IBC, with "MusicDR-NIX" in the memo field. Funds received will be used as directed, with any excess used to offset other trip expenses or projects, and your donation is tax-deductible.
