Team Marcelo Pereira BJJ School Fund

Hello Teammates and Friends,

I hope this finds you well. As all of you are aware, the impacts of the COVID-19 virus have been financially impactful to so many. The effects to each person differ greatly which is the reason you are receiving this letter.

As we all know Professor Marcelo chose to freeze monthly payment of over 80% of students when it became clear he would not be able to conduct class. At the same time, he maintained paying the rent and utilities for our Fort Myers location in the amount of $6000. Like all of us, he continued to pay his personal bills, but with almost no income from the school. Currently the school has been closed for over 45 days.

This week Professor Marcelo reached out to say he needed a place to store his mats because he was going to have to close the Fort Myers school. The Landlord requested the full month's rent but Professor has spent his excess savings. Professor would never ask for this which is why I am sending this.

After speaking with some fellow students, we agreed that we should come together as a school to help cover May's rent so we don't have to close. Simply stated, $3000 is needed to cover May's rent and utilities. This is an opportunity for us to come together as teammates and friends to help. We are asking all of you, who are able, to make a contribution to the go fund me account so we can keep the doors open. If you are able to donate $100, $200 or more, please do so. Everything helps and is needed quickly.

All of us could share how much Professor and BJJ have helped us in so many ways. I am asking you to please give generously. In life, generosity like this always come back around.
