We’re Team Barrhead Travel Southampton, and we’re coming together to take on an exciting challenge to raise money for a charity that makes a real difference to families facing some of life’s toughest moments — Abby’s Heroes. ❤️

On Friday 30th October 2026, with the fantastic support of Hedge End Gym, our team will be jumping on the exercise bikes and rowing machines to complete an incredible 100 MILES AS A TEAM! ‍♀️‍♂️

We’re putting our teamwork, determination and energy into this challenge to raise as much money as possible for this very special cause, and we would love your support!

Why Abby’s Heroes?

Abby’s Heroes supports children, teenagers, young adults and their families following a cancer diagnosis and throughout their treatment on either the Piam Brown Ward or the Teenage and Young Adult (TYA) Ward at University Hospital Southampton. Families travel to this specialist oncology centre from across the South of England including Southampton & Isle of Wight.

A cancer diagnosis can turn a family’s world upside down, bringing emotional, practical and financial challenges at an already incredibly difficult time.

Abby’s Heroes is there to help families navigate these challenges, providing a wide range of support, including:

Financial support to help families with the extra costs that can come with a cancer diagnosis.

Practical help and welfare packs to support families throughout treatment.

Memory-making grants to help families create precious memories together.

Counselling for the whole family to provide emotional support when it is needed most.

Play therapy for children to help them express themselves and cope with difficult experiences.

Family Support Workers who offer guidance and support to families along the way.

End-of-treatment grants to celebrate a child's or young person's milestone at the end of treatment.

The work Abby’s Heroes does helps families feel supported, cared for and less alone during an incredibly challenging chapter of their lives. We’re proud to be fundraising for a charity that provides such meaningful support to children, young people and their loved ones.

‍♀️ How can you support us?

On Friday 30th October, Team Barrhead Travel Southampton will be working together to cycle and row 100 miles in store, with the support of Hedge End Gym.

We would love for you to come and visit us in store, cheer us on and help us reach our 100-mile target! Every bit of encouragement will help keep us motivated as we take on this challenge.
