Teaching in a Refugee Camp

Donation protected
On 12th November I will be travelling to Greece to teach in one of the many refugee camps set up to house people who have fled their homes and former lives due to desperate and dangerous circumstances.

Armando Aid is a charity that has set up a temporary school for children and adults at Oinofyta Refugee Camp in Central Greece with the aim of supporting every child's fundamental right to an education.

The school's priority is to provide a sense of normality and routine, as well as a safe place to learn. The hope is that it will give children, who have had their world turned upside down, the skills to build a better, safer future for themselves and their families.

Having been a teacher for 8 years, I know the importance of education and truly believe it has the power to change lives. Like many people, I've felt a strong need to do my bit to help in the current refugee crisis so I have decided to volunteer my skills as a teacher. I'm hoping to raise money to help fund my trip so that I can stay out there for a month.  Any money raised will go towards travel and living expenses as well as hopefully funding resources to help the school continue with the fabulous work they do.

All donations are gratefully received.

Thank you for your generosity!
