Hi!
My name is Ava-Lily Stephenson, and I’ve been given an exciting and meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most. I’ll be working with the organisation Project Trust to travel to Cambodia, where I’ll teach and support local students—helping to provide access to quality education in communities where resources are limited.
This placement will last for eight months, beginning in January and ending in August. During my time in Cambodia, my primary role will be teaching, with the potential to also engage in youth development work with primary school-aged children. Supporting the local community in any way I can will also be one of my key priorities.
I will be working in some of the most deprived areas of Cambodia, aiming to help create a brighter future for young children. Education plays a vital role in breaking the cycle of poverty. In Cambodia, economic hardship, limited resources, and rural isolation often prevent children from attending school regularly. By contributing my time and energy, I hope to support these communities in building a stronger foundation for their future.
