Volunteering in Tanzania

Hi friends and family,

I am currently in Arusha Tanzania volunteering at a gorgeous primary school called Pison Primary. The school caters for students up to age 14 and currently has approximately 223 students. Both the students and teachers have touched my heart with their continuous dedication and determination of learning and showing up everyday.

I am raising money so that I can directly contribute to providing educational resources and daily essentials for the school, the children, and their families. Every single donation will go towards making a real difference for the community I’ll be working with. Our support will help give these children the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive, and I’ll be so grateful for anything you can give.

We’ve sat down with the schools director and learnt about the current budget. The schools focus is purchasing bulk food supplies. Some students rely on this meal as their main source of food for the day. Below are some pricing examples showing the conversion and amount of food which can be purchased.

5kgs of each Rice, Sugar, Maize Flour and Beans total $30 AUD = 50,000 Tanzanian Shillings

1ltr of cooking oil $3 AUD = 5,000 Tanzanian Shillings

Any additional amount raised will go towards school supplies and resources to support both the students and teachers.
