Help the Mihm family rebuild their home!

Hi. My name is Lacy Meyer. My family and I are fundraising for my younger sister Sarah, her loving husband Paul and their sweet little boys Preston (age 6) and Rudy (age 4)....They make up the generously warm, thoughtful and loving family: The Mihm’s.
Due to an unforeseen and a completely out of their control hazard they are now completely losing all of their belongings (EVERYTHING) and the home they’ve built so many happy memories in.
Their Back(Love)Story:
Paul Mihm and Sarah (Meyer) greeted each other every morning with a smile---starting at the age of fourteen and before the bell rang at 8am. Their alphabetically assigned high school lockers stood right next to each other. Paul quietly had the hots for Sarah the entire time.
After high school, they went on to discover and build who they are and were becoming (as we all do in young adulthood). At 22, Paul bought his first home...a home he dreamed of growing a family in.
Ten years after graduation, Sarah sent out their high school reunion invitations. Paul, after all the years of his feelings for Sarah replied, “Will Attend….if I can also take you out for a sandwich.”
They were engaged within six months and he moved Sarah into his home to start to build their beautiful family. They now have a super loving marriage and two of the sweetest, kindest, smartest and playful little boys on the planet (I’m such a proud Auntie!).
As they hug, Preston and Rudy call each other “Brudda” (a.k.a. “Brother”).They play hard outside and love storytime even harder. They love baby Yoda, their “blankies”, bunk-beds, their stuffed animals, books and pajamas. They love their huge fenced in backyard and their two rambunctious puppy dogs: Peanut and Miko.
But as of December 2nd, 2021 that is all gone, forever…
The Hazard:
Sarah has been extremely ill now for over 2 years. Legs and joints are in pain. Troubles breathing. Heart palpitations. No one knew what was slowing killing her. After going to doctors and specialists, ruling out “this” and suspecting “scary that” -- A specialist at Parkview hospital decided that they needed to have their home inspected.
A professional mold inspector came and did an ERMI DNA Analysis. The inspector found a severe case of 32 types of mycotoxins that seriously affects 24% of the population.
“Mycotoxin,” according to Wikipedia, is “a toxic secondary metabolite produced by organisms of kingdom Fungi and is capable of causing disease and death in both humans and other animals….Common symptoms include: Cognitive difficulties (e.g. brain fog, poor memory/concentration, anxiety), Pain (especially abdominal pain, but can include muscle pain similar to fibromyalgia), Unexplained weight gain or weight loss, and Numbness and tingling in extremities or other areas of the body.” Sarah had all of these horrific symptoms.
The inspector said that they had to leave their home that very day and to not take anything with them due to the extreme spread of these types of microscopic mold. They now have to throw away or burn every belonging they own and possibly demolish their entire home.
How You Can Help:
Paul and Sarah are the most generous people I know. They have selflessly volunteered their time and hearts to many families and causes all around their town of Decatur, Indiana. They have coached children’s soccer teams and overseen benefits for families in need. They are the George Bailey’s (from “It’s A Wonderful Life”) of the world. They would never ask one single soul for anything…and they are currently homeless.
Now, my family and I are asking for help for them...
We would like to raise $25,000 to help them rebuild their home. HomeOwners Insurance doesn’t cover mold...even if it’s a situation like this that is something COMPLETELY OUT OF THEIR CONTROL. Please help Paul and Sarah to keep greeting each other with a smile before 8am. Help Paul, Sarah, Preston and Rudy have A Wonderful Life. Every little bit goes a long way.
Please help this beautifully big hearted family this holiday season and give four of the most generous people in the world the most meaningful gift of a lifetime: a down payment on a home.
From our family to yours, Happy Holidays.
With so much gratitude and love,
Lacy
